Soul Ties & Covenants

Have you ever dated/married  someone and then you broke up? After the breakup all you do is think about the other person? Or have you ever read something or seen something you wished you never would have read or seen because now you can’t get it out of your mind.  Does the smell or a song trigger your mind to remember something from the past that you long to forget?

Soul Ties & Covenants

Have you ever dated/married  someone and then you broke up? After the breakup all you do is think about the other person? Or have you ever read something or seen something you wished you never would have read or seen because now you can’t get it out of your mind.  Does the smell or a song trigger your mind to remember something from the past that you long to forget?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions then you have a soul tie and a covenant.

First let’s discuss a positive soul tie.

As humans we come into contact with people every day.  Some of those people we create relationships with.  Some relationships can be parent/child, friend/friend, etc.  As we interact with people a soul tie can be created. Soul ties can be both negative and positive.  Have you ever met a person you felt instantly connected with?  I call this a   kindred spirit.  That means we are like minded.

Now for the negative ones.

Negative soul ties are created when we hang out with the wrong people or when we do the wrong kind of things. Have you ever heard of not having sex before marriage?  I remember hearing that but never understanding why. Just because God said? Well, the answer to that is because negative soul ties are formed any time a person has sex with someone they are not married to.  Have you heard the scripture that says “bad company corrupts good character”? Why?  Negative soul ties are created with the people you hang around with.

Okay so that describes soul ties but how about covenants?

When I read a King James Version or New King James Version of the Bible I can not find the word soul tie anywhere. Sou tie is like a modern word.  However, I do find where God made covenants with people, and where people made covenants with other people.  Covenants are agreements.  For example, I made a covenant when I said my marriage vows, etc.

Now let me be somewhat transparent with you on how this knowledge came about.

This is my testimony, and the Word of God says we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony!
I pray you overcome by reading my testimony!

Many of you know that after 12 years of marriage I divorced my first husband. We have 2 children together. How did I  go about living my life and have to see him because of the children? How could I find healing? What did I do when I heard “our song” play on the radio? How did I move on? How did I start dating?

I had learned about soul ties years before I divorced by reading several deliverance books. I went through breaking soul ties in my own life,  I had even prayed with people and led them in prayer for God to break their ties.  Now here was my turn again.

After I divorced I was still hurting inside of me. I remember the day that my divorce was final I felt a breaking on the inside of my spirit man. I hurt terribly. I went crazy for about 2 weeks afterwards until I heard God say to me “Tammy, what are you doing?”  Then God led me step by step.

First, I went to see my old pastors in Tennessee. I allowed them to speak into my life. Then over the course of time God revealed a book on my book shelf. It was an old book on healing  by Charles and Frances Hunter. I read the book and it kept mentioning tapes. I researched on google and found that their daughter Joan had a ministry. She had a ordination program as well. I decided that I would get ordained!  I signed up to get ordained and began to go through the process. I was required to read about 20 books, watch 12 hours of videos, and answer several pages of questions.  During the book reading I discovered covenants!  This changed my life forever!

I prayed and forgave those who had hurt me, and I even prayed to forgive myself.  I asked God to restore my broken heart. I asked God to break the covenants I had formed with my ex husband, movies I had watched, books that I had read, people I had associated with that were not good for me. Then I released my ex husband and everything else to God. Then after I did this I started realizing that I could now see the ex and not feel the pain that once was there. I only saw him the way God saw him. I could hear songs and they not bother me anymore. I could marry again and not carry baggage into my new marriage!  I was healed and set free!

If you are reading this and you are moved by what you have read then I challenge you to say the following prayer.

Father God,  I come to you today and I ask that you forgive me of my sins. I ask that you help me to forgive myself for things that I have done. Father, I forgive ______ (insert name here) and I ask You to bless him/her. Father God, I ask that you restore my broken heart (put your hand over your heart)  and make it whole once again. I ask that you bring back all of the pieces of my heart. I ask you to bring them back from the north, the south, the east, and the west. I thank you God that my heart has been restored.  Father God, I ask that you break the soul ties and the covenants that I made with ____(insert name or names) by the blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I ask You to fill me with Your Holy Spirit from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. I thank you, Father God. I give You all the praise and honor for this in Jesus’ name.  Amen
