You Have Come Too Far

“The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." (Zephaniah 3:17).This is the scripture that God has brought to my mind over the past few days. This might sound a little weird to some of you, but over the past few days I have heard singing with my natural ears. Yes, I teach music, but it’s not earthly music that I am hearing. It’s heavenly music!

You Have Come Too Far

“The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." (Zephaniah 3:17).

This is the scripture that God has brought to my mind over the past few days. This might sound a little weird to some of you, but over the past few days I have heard singing with my natural ears. Yes, I teach music, but it’s not earthly music that I am hearing. It’s heavenly music!

As a believer of Christ Jesus I am a child of God and because of that I have the ability to hear God’s voice. Most of the time I have heard a still small voice in my spirit man. So you can imagine
my excitement when I started to hear music. (John 10:27 and 1 Kings 19:11-13).

It’s not the first time I have heard music, but the hearing has strengthened.

What kinds of music have I heard over the last few months? I have heard country type music where violins were used as fiddles. I have heard shofars being blown. I have heard drums playing steady beats and drum playing various rhythms. I have heard a piano. I have heard a harp. I have heard choirs sing. Then this morning I was awakened by singing.

The singing this morning sounded like a female voice singing in an alto range. It was low in pitch. The voice was accompanied by an instrument, but the instrument sound was unknown to me. Most of the time I can tell there is singing, but I can’t identify the words. However, this morning there was one set of words I kept hearing repeatedly. The words remained the same throughout whereas the pitches did not. It seemed as though the pitches had three patterns. The words being sang this morning were, “you have come too far to turn back now”.

What does that mean to me?

For seventeen years I have learned to recognize and follow God’s voice. I sense there is a new season upon God’s people. The things you have been able to do before is deepening. Your God given skills are being developed to be more sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Those that will recognize and follow what God is doing will be changed (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Don’t quit. Don’t back down. Keep fighting the good fight. Be a victor and not a victim. Speak life and not death in every situation. Know that your identity is in Christ. Know that you have the authority and power to trample upon every spiritual enemy that comes your way.

“The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." (Zephaniah 3:17).
