The Revelator Book Series
Spirit of Adoption &Removing the Curse of Illegitimacy

As I was completing the last portion of book #4 on the spirit of self God shifted my direction as to what book #5 should be written about.  God told to write of my birth, adoption, and growing up adopted. I covered some of this in book #1, but God told me to go deeper.  So here goes…

Chapter 1: Tammy’s Adoption Story

It was a cold day in December, but the air was electrified by the dance that was soon to happen. Victoria had her dress picked out, and she was ready to get out and enjoy herself.

The day of the dance came. Victoria came by herself, and soon she attracted the man of her dreams. They danced and had a good time. That good time led to a sexual encounter.

About a month later Victoria started to become sick, and she knew what that meant. She remembered how her body reacted when she was pregnant with her first child.  What was she going to do? She already had one baby out of wedlock, and here she was pregnant again.

Victoria’s mother was hard on her. The mother spoke bad words over the baby and Victoria.  Victoria didn’t believe in abortion, and it was too expensive anyway. Victoria decided to give her baby up for adoption.

It was a Thursday afternoon when Glenda drove onto the lot of Art’s workplace.  She jumped out of the car and said, “we’re getting a baby!” Art dropped  everything and hugged his wife.  It had been six years of trying to have a baby, exploratory surgery, and two previous adoption failures.   Art and Glenda were ready.  They waited for several days until the call came in on Sunday!  A baby girl had arrived.

On Monday evening the baby girl was discovered to have a birth defect.  She needed surgery as soon as possible.

When Arthur went to the lawyer’s office to complete the adoption paperwork, the lawyer tried to persuade Arthur not to adopt the baby. Arthur told the lawyer, “I’m not paying to hear you talk. I am paying for you to sign the paper.”

After a few days the baby was driven to Egleston Children’s Hospital for surgery.  Glenda stayed by her side the entire time.  The baby needed special care after surgery, and Glenda stayed home to take care of the baby.

The baby, Tammy, grew and was an active toddler. She was into everything and was curious. She wanted to help everywhere.  One day she went into the kitchen and her grandmother accidentally poured hot water on Tammy’s head.

When Tammy grew to the age of four an illness occurred which altered Tammy’s life forever. Glenda came to pick up Tammy from her grandmother’s house. Glenda asked Tammy, “Did Maw Maw whoop you today?”  Tammy had bruises on her body from head to toe. Glenda rushed Tammy to the emergency room. Tammy’s platelets were low. Tammy was admitted into the hospital. She stayed there for about a month being poked and prodded daily. Sometimes the nurse would prick her finger and sometimes they had to draw blood. One particular day they tried to do a bone marrow procedure. When Tammy saw the needle she fought nurses and the doctor. Tammy bent the needle, and to her remembrance the procedure never happened.
